Plyometrics
What in the world was this guy thinking of when he designed this workout? "Puts the X in P90X!" In short, this workout is all about jumping, jumping, and jumping some more. Sure there are various little things where you are not jumping, but the majority of the time you are in the air getting mad hops.
My first thought about this program was, this should be relatively simple. I did tae kwon do for 12 years from 7 years old till 19 years old, no way it could do more jumping than a tae kwon do class. How I was wrong... we jumped and jumped, ran around in circles, jumped some more, leaped higher, faster, stronger.
My thoughts on Plyometrics: I did not push myself to my max today for fear of passing out and throwing up if I did. Instead, I generally stopped ten seconds short on most exercises unless they were really fun, then I kept going. My lungs felt like they were breathing in battery acid at some points, my heart could pump enough oxygen to supply 30 people underwater for an hour.
My legs, yes, they are shaky. My calves... they are obliterated. My bad knee (dislocated during tae kwon do back in the day), it feels surprisingly alright. I'm sure I will pay for it tomorrow though. All in all, the workout was fun, entertaining, challenging, but doable.
Update on Diet: The diet is going according to plan. I am getting as much protein as I can afford. Protein isn't the cheapest nutrient the body needs unfortunately. At least protein from foods.
Breakfast: English muffin or bagel, might have a bowl of bran flakes
Snacks: string cheese, fat free yogurt, grapes, cucumbers, carrots, celery, protein bar, dried cranberries, occasional banana.
Lunch: Sliced deli meat, as much as I can afford.
Dinner: CHICKEN generally mixed with almonds and some type of vegetable like broccoli, cauliflower, peas, green beans. I also try to have a salad with fat free dressing.
That's my diet. I am supposed to consume roughly 2800 calories per day on this diet, most of which are protein. I do not think I am even coming close to 2000. I need to eat more I assume.
Have y'all ever had a workout day where you cannot walk up stairs after you are done?
