Chest and Back with AB ripper X
My ability to type has been somewhat hindered by gripping the pullup bar for the past hour. I do apologize for any misspelling or errors. One word, "Wow". This P90x workout will chew you up and spit you out if you allow it. The sheer volume of exercises along with the variations allowed are simply awesome. My muscles were burning by the end of the warm up!
I previously watched the chest and back workout, but did not think it was that bad. Upon entering it's domain, I come to realize that I am not in shape... no where near in shape.
Pushups, pullups, and rowing exercises is the name of the game on Day 1 of your 90 day journey. Going into this workout, I can do 52 pushups and 10 pullups. These 'feats' are irrelevant when challenged to complete the chest and back workout DVD.
My thoughts for chest and back: I paced myself, tried my best, forgot the rest. I performed as a first timer would be expected to perform. Having never done one or two of the exercises, trying to develop good form is part of the learning process. Next week, I plan to 'bring it' a bit more than today. I admit, I took it somewhat easy in the beginning trying not to overwork myself for fear of not being able to complete the entire workout.
Ab Ripper X - this isn't your standard 'I'm going to do a few situps' routine. This is, as he says it, "349 ab strengthing exercises", and he is absolutely correct on that statement. Most of the exercises I have never done before seeing the Ab Ripper X video. Again, learning the technique and proper form were my goals for today. Even when taking it slow while learning, I was unable to complete most of the sets.
After the videos, I stretched, went and made myself a protein shake (drinking it while I type this up). I am off to study for the CPA now.
How sore do you think I am going to be =P?
