P90X: Day 5

Legs and Back with Ab Ripper X

First, let me say that I did the program wrong already, my first week. Yesterday, Day 4, should have been Yoga X, not Kenpo X. So, in order to remedy this confusion, I will be doing Yoga X tomorrow (Day 6).

Alright, back to Legs and Back. I did not know my legs could do that many lunges that many different ways and still be able to walk up stairs only to collapse onto the floor in sheer exhaustion. While laying on the floor, I realized... I still have to do more pullups. I 'brought it' as I climbed up the side of the door frame and attached myself to the pullup bar only to get 3 full length pullups before falling back onto the ground. Talk about brutal!

My thoughts on Legs and Back: This was the roughest workout I have experienced in the P90X circuit yet. My legs are dead. I am wore out. When I go from doing leg exercises to doing pullups, I have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the pullup bar (don't have enough room upstairs to do massive lunges). I have a prediction that my buttocks will be extremely sore tomorrow, my calves will be rebelling against my body, and my quadriceps will be packing in an effort to run away from home. My legs are my weakest part, so naturally this workout would give me the most trouble.

Ab Ripper X

I did 15 reps of every exercise except those V-up ones. Those things are brutal, I only got 8 with correct form. Soon I will be Mr. ab Mcsixpack with this workout, hopefully. I don't see how you wouldn't be able to get a six pack with this series of exercises.

Update on nutrition: It is going good. I gave myself one 'good' meal tonight while out with a friend. I figure if I have one 'good' meal every one or two weeks, it will help my body adjust to the carb deprivation that it is going through. Regardless, I have been doing good with the nutrition side of the program. Eating as much protein as possible while limiting carbs and fats.
